Chigyobi are a type of Rarepon introduced in Patapon 2. These Rarepons are red and have a fish tail and small fins, resembling a fish. Chigyobi grow into Gyopicchi and Gyogyoppa, causing the tail to grow longer and larger along with scale patterns appearing. These Rarepons have good all-rounded offense, offering good damage growth, improved attack speed, and increased critical and stagger rates. Chigyobi are also resistant to criticals, becoming completely immune when fully developed. However, they are highly vulnerable to elemental damage, such as fire and ice. This makes them weak against most bosses' attacks, such as Dodonga's Fire Breath, or Zuttankarmen's meteors. These Rarepons go well with Dekapons and Robopons, since their slower speeds are offset by Chigyobi's attributes and can inflict more damage than other units.
Chigyobi evolve from Wanda Rarepons, and evolve into Kanokko Rarepons.
In Patapon 3, Chigyobi make an appearance as the WooyariUberhero class. Wooyari is a Chigyobi Yaripon that wields a pike to strike and stab his opponents from a distance.
Trivia[]
'Gyo' is derived from the Japanese word for fish (魚) in the context of being fish-like, rather than a fish as a whole.
