In the God of War: Full Length Feature, it is possible to see a Patapon 2 icon right next to the Patapon 1 Remastered, but as noted by Krvavi Abadas in the Resetera forums, the video was recorded about 3 months after the Patapon 2 remaster was announced.
Around December 24th 2019, PSN tracker "Gamstat" listed Patapon 2 Remastered for America, Asia and Europe regions and a "Don Chaka" version for Japan region. Games listed on Gamstat's tracker usually means that the game will be announced within a couple of weeks.
On January 27th 2020, Patapon 2 Remastered was officially announced to release on January 30th 2020 along with the official trailer .
On January 30th, at about 01:30 AM in Europe, Patapon 2 remastered was released. It was found to have several differences from the original, chief of which was the removal of the multiplayer feature of the Patagate. To make up for this, when you first unlock the Patagate, the game gives you every piece of friendship equipment, and the lordly hairpiece.
