Eerie Bard Class for the Archfiend of Justice. Sonic balls for damage and status effect. Vampire ability absorbs enemy life.
  — US In-game description.

Standoffish Sonarchy (「たかPソナッチ」?; Taka-P Sonacchi) is one of the seven Dark Heroes introduced in Patapon 3. He is the third Dark Hero encountered in the story mode and is considered the counterpart to both Wondabarappa and Jamsch for his arsenal of horns and status-focused capabilities. Like the two Uberheroes, Sonarchy excels in crowd control with his ricocheting sonic balls to inflict status effects across the battlefield.

Appearance[]

Sonarchy sports a yellow mask in the form of a bat's head with red eyes, and wears a yellow cape by default.

Story[]

Sonarchy (formerly Prince Sonarch) was the prince of an ancient civilization known as the Ah-Ooh tribe, which was destroyed by the Patapons a long time ago. He, along with his father, King Ighl, (who later became the Dark Hero known as Miss Covet-Hiss), summoned the Seven Archfiends to exact revenge on the Patapons. He represents the sin of Pride and is linked to Justice and Humility and, to reflect this, claims to be better than all of the other Dark Heroes and protects his tribe and tries to follow his father.

Sonarchy 2

In the final cutscene, Covet-Hiss reveals their true identities to Slogturtle and Buzzcrave, which the two have been aware of all along. Upon realizing that their memories have been restored without his permission by Sonarchy, Covet-Hiss flies into a "rage of Jealousy" and attempts to kill everyone, including Sonarchy, who tries to apologize to him to no avail at all. Slogturtle and Buzzcrave attempt to protect Sonarchy, but Sonarchy orders the two generals to escape. With no other option, Sonarchy dispatches Covet-Hiss with a single blow, dealing 777 critical damage points, and states that they both have lived long enough and must meet redemption.

Equipment[]

Sonarchy can be equipped with:

  • Helms by default.
  • Horns, Longhorns, and Twinhorns by default.

Dark Uberhero Mode: Sonic Doom[]

Eat sound bites! Sonic Doom!♪

Sonic Doom
"Disperses 12 sonic balls which inflict heavy damage and cause status effects (Poison and Sleep)."
  • Activate: PonIcon PonIcon PataIcon PonIcon
  • Combo: PonIcon PonIcon PataIcon PonIcon

During Sonic Doom, Sonarchy fires twelve blue sonic balls, which inflict consistent damage and an array of status effects, including poison, sleep, and stagger. As with all sonic balls, they will ricochet unpredictably on contact with targets and structures, allowing them to potentially strike distant targets if they bounce away from Sonarchy.

Upon activation, Sonarchy will shout, (「キルソニック」?; Killer Sonic!)

Strategy[]

  • Sonarchy can equip all types of horns, allowing him to play the role of damage with longhorns or support with twinhorns.
  • PonChaka followed by the PonPon song will cause Sonarchy to fire bladed sonic balls, similar to Wondaparappa.
  • PonChaka followed by the ChakaChaka song will cause Sonarchy to fire burning sonic waves, similar to Jamsch.

Trivia[]

  • Miss Covet-Hiss and Sonarchy are survivors of the ancient Ah-ooh dynasty. They were both responsible to exact revenge upon the Patapons by summoning the 7 Archfiends for annihilating their tribe.
  • Strangely, Sonarchy refers to Miss Covet-Hiss as "Papa" multiple times.
  • In the Japanese version of Patapon 3, Sonarchy's name is "Taka-P Sonacchi" (「たかPソナッチ」?). Noticeable here is the Latin letter "P" in his name, which in Japanese usually means "music Producer", such as "Vocalo-P" for a Vocaloid producer (song writer).
  • Sonarchy's name may be combination of the words "Sonar" and "Anarchy", or "Song" and "Monarchy".
  • During the campaign, Sonarchy is immune to Poison.
  • During the campaign, Sonarchy sings when in battle. For instance he says "Can't touch this!♪", a throwback to MC Hammer's single "U Can't Touch This ".
  • In "Total Ultrasonic Air Defense!", Sonarchy can be seen equipped with a Great Howl horn and a default cape.
  • In an early trailer, Sonarchy can be seen holding non-horn weapon.
